Laura and Steve Parker, Ellen Morris Prewitt
Bio: We are married with 4 children and have advised them to seek a practice of faith that brings them life rather than the punishing, judging concept of God we raised them in. They’ve responded thanks Mom and Dad, but we were doing this anyway. By profession, Laura is an educator and Steve a consulting environmental scientist. At this juncture we are finding our faith in a number of practices, one of which we stumbled upon-contemplative writing. It is not our idea, but we’ve participated along with other seekers. We have not only benefitted from the practice but learned to facilitate it in small group settings. We’d like to share it beyond ourselves!!!!
For Ellen, I’m an author with 15 years of leading writing groups. For 8 years, I led a weekly writing group of folks experiencing homelessness. I'm writer-in-residence at a blues venue. Recently, I co-created the School for Contemplative Living's Contemplative Writing Group, a practice I'm excited to share.
