Bio: Jon Carl Lewis (he/him/his) temporarily abandoned his book publishing efforts to study Christian sexual ethics from a queer, contemplative lens as a candidate for the Master of Arts in Public Ministry. As a openly gay man seeking ordination as a deacon in the UMC, he struggles with how the Jesus story and Christian community can answer the call to relevance by newer generations seeking guidance and support for remaking their world--a world they want to look a lot more like the kin-dom of God, a world in which they can live unashamed, full lives in creative, authentic, holy communion with people and ideas very different from their own.
