Gwen Fry

You are viewing a previous festival year: 2024
Bio: The Rev. Gwen Fry, an Episcopal priest in Maine, came out as a trans woman in 2014, making her keenly aware of the lack of equality of all God’s children. She has been actively involved in opposing anti-transgender legislation for the last decade. She has been a consultant and speaker for groups and religious communities as they navigate the connection between the LGBTQ+ community and religion. An active member of TransEpiscopal, Gwen attends General Convention to provide testimony in committees on LGBTQ+ resolutions, and provide education to those attending the triennial gathering. She is currently serving on the Interim Body to Oversee the Continuing Development of Anti-Harassment Best Practices in the Episcopal Church. Gwen’s self-care includes working on projects around the farm, in her home chapel: the kitchen, a good Kentucky Wildcat basketball game, cooking shows, and Ted Lasso.
