Candy Leigh
Bio: CANDY (Candice Ruh) is pursuing her PhD in communication focusing on critical studies of structures of identity and power. Because research is me-search, some of her research includes identity formation post-deconstruction. She identifies as a recovering WELS Lutheran, mother of 3 humans, 2 dogs, and is a gypsy at heart.
As a yoga teacher and Reiki Master, Candy enjoys a healthy yoga and meditation practice to balance her physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Her published works include a memoir: Finding Life In Between; a children's book: Meet My Jesus, a rhyming book about God's unconditional love for our LGBTQ+ community; and a contribution to the anthology: Inspiring True Stories of Everyday Heroes: From the Frontlines of COVID-19. Candy is working on additional published works that focus on self-help and healing.
Candy currently resides in southeastern Wisconsin and teaches undergraduate courses in communication at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
