Bio: Mark E. Biddle, DrTheol (University of Zurich) began teaching at the undergraduate level in 1988 before joining the faculty of the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. Since the closure of that institution in early 2019. Dr. Biddle and others, including Dr. Melissa A. Jackson, have been working together to establish Sophia Theological Seminary - a seminary that takes a new approach to its curriculum, its pedagogy, and via its companion institution, Sophia Farms, to its funding mechanism. Dr. Biddle's publications include commentaries on Deuteronomy and Judges (both Smyth & Helwys), Missing the Mark (Abingdon Press), A Time to Laugh (Smyth & Helwys), a dozen translations (from the German), scores of articles, and approaching two hundred book reviews. Dr. Biddle is passionate about the Bible read responsibly, music (piano, trombone, and banjo), art, and his family, which has recently grown with the addition of his first grandchild, Grace.
