Bio: Laura is the author of the coming-of-age memoir, Untethered: Faith, Failure, and Finding Solid Ground (She Writes Press, 2022). Untethered has received numerous awards including First Place in the 2023 CIBA Journey Awards for Overcoming Adversity and Finalist in the 2023 Eric Hoffer and American Writing Awards. Laura has been an advertising copywriter, newspaper columnist, staff writer for an international relief agency, travel writer, blogger, teacher, communications director for several nonprofits, and a personal assistant to a New York Times bestselling author. She is passionate about her faith, books, travel, nature, social justice, and her family. Laura is currently working on a book about her journey out of a conservative evangelical church to an inner city church called The Dwelling, which ministers to folks struggling with housing insecurity, homelessness, addiction, poverty, and mental health. Laura lives in Winston-Salem, NC, with her husband, Stephen.
