Quality, affordable health coverage is something we all need, and we all deserve. But lawmakers in 10 states have refused to expand Medicaid and provide access to affordable coverage to those who need it. This political decision has left more than 2 million people without access to health coverage – almost all of whom live in the South and a majority of whom are people of color. They live in “the Medicaid coverage gap.”
In Due Season shares the lived experience of those being left behind - and highlights the ongoing injustice of this gap and its perpetuation of historic and systemic racial health inequities that Black communities have faced for centuries.
