Lively Rest - Daydreaming, Creativity, and Community

You are viewing a previous festival year: 2024
Description: Nap Bishop, Tricia Hersey, and her work in Rest is Resistance, promotes daydreaming, empty space, and naps as a form of resistance to grind culture, white supremacy, and capitalism. She uses her work to promote restful, sabbath-like experiences as essential to our humanBEING-ness. Leaning on these ideas, we will invite a meditative, restful space with guided imagining followed by discussion around creativity and the countercultural experience of nurturing ourselves. Leader Rev. Katy Cuthill Steinberg also believes this is the birthplace of deepened connection with the divine and the cultivation of non-anxious, anti-grind culture relationships and communities. Come be part of this restful experience and conversation.
