Uncertainty and Courage: Living with OCD as a Spiritual Practice

You are viewing a previous festival year: 2024
Description: Join a conversation about how the work of living with and managing obsessive compulsive disorder, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety can be spiritual practice. In this interactive roundtable, we will make connections between what we have learned in therapy as good news for our mental health and how our regular work of living with OCD with courage and grace is spiritual work. We will also attend to how our faith spaces (both current or past), particularly those shaped by fundamentalist worldviews, may have worsened our OCD and how more expansive views of faith can help bolster our recovery. **This session is not intended to be or replace therapy under the guidance of a trained mental health professional. Instead, the facilitator will offer personal insights and invite the group to share out of their abundance of experience and knowledge to help support one another.
