What is Wild Church?
Time: Fri 10:00AM
Venue: Oasis
Style: Worship
Description: Have you had experiences of awe and connection with the Holy in nature? Do you see the natural world as sacred but have been reluctant to share it with anyone? Wild Church is about creating space and community to reconnect what has been separated - nature and spirituality. Heaven and earth. Humans and the rest of creation. Wild Church came about from the hearts of many who were longing to experience divine presence directly rather than as an abstract belief disconnected from nature and life. Maybe you’ve heard something about Wild Church and have wondered about it, or have read Victoria Loorz’s book, Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred. More than worship or doing church outdoors, Wild Church is a way of re-membering our primary interconnection with earth, with nature, with our Place, as sacred. It’s a spirituality that weaves back into the wider beloved community that includes the human and the more-than-human in kinship relationship. Come learn more about Wild Church, ask questions, and engage with author, Victoria Loorz, founder of the Center for Wild Spirituality, and Valerie Luna Serrels, co-founder and director of the Wild Church Network.
