Description: Information about and interest in psychedelics seem to be everywhere. Since Michael Pollan published How to Change Your Mind in 2018, awareness of the mental health research has dramatically increased. Several US states have now made it possible for people to access these healing modalities. How might the Church's (and Jesus') ministry of healing intersect with what some are calling the psychedelic renaissance.
It is our premise that spiritual directors, chaplains, and local congregations have an important role to play. And if so, what do religious and spiritual seekers and leaders need to know about these potentially powerful tools for mental health and spiritual growth and development? In our presentation and the Q&A that follows, a spiritual director, a chaplain and a pastor will do their best to answer your questions and together we can discern where Christianitiy and our spiritual practices might fit in.
