Cultivating a Beauty-First Life
Time: Sat 11:00AM
Venue: Portal
Style: Workshop
Content Type: Recapturing wonder, resonance, and delight
Description: Our lives need beauty like our bodies need oxygen, but we are often prone to think that beauty is less necessary than truth or morality. Cultivating a beauty-first life is about recapturing the importance of experience, desire, wonder, and resonance within vibrant relationships with God, each other, and all of creation. A beauty-first life does not diminish the importance of truth and goodness, but it reframes them according to what allures and delights. It is beauty, after all, that draws us into our most meaningful and enduring connections. This workshop will explore the centrality of beauty within a journey of faith, hope, and love, guiding participants through several reflective and embodied practices for cultivating a beauty-first life. Bring something to write on, an active imagination, and a readiness to pay attention to yourself and your surroundings.
