BUILDING COMMUNITY DURING AND AFTER DECONSTRUCTION

You are viewing a previous festival year: 2024
Style: Workshop
Description: We are wired for connection. For those who have left church yet still yearn for the community it offered, finding groups or relationships to fill that void can be challenging, and it can leave you feeling lonely and lost. This workshop will share several strategies for finding new friendships, new communities, and even for starting your own. Danae has been building community and teaching on it within and outside church contexts for nearly 20 years. Her specialty in this area is creating or shifting the culture of a community, and her 8 years as a marketing strategist lend helpful insight too. Since her own deconstruction and divorce, she has experimented with how to make new friends as an adult and building a local non-church community. This workshop has something for everyone: introverts and extroverts, married and single, young and old, those newly deconstructing and those who’ve come through it, those looking for a small group of friends and those who want to build a more organized community in their area. Let us learn together how to find needed community and connection.
