Guided Meditations: Connect Body, Spirit, Community, and Earth

You are viewing a previous festival year: 2024
Description: Guided meditations are a powerful tool for connecting us to ourselves, the earth, and with each other. Learn how to lead them! For many people, guided meditations are a more accessible path to mindfulness. Focusing on the words allows us to more effectively relax and come into the present moment. Certified yoga instructor and school nurse Ann Stillwater shares tips and best-practices for leading guided meditations in your own settings, including church services. We will include discussion of some trauma-informed and intersectionality practices to help your guided meditations be more equitable and accessible. Guided meditations can be a connective resource for communities of faith, and Ann frequently leads them in diverse settings. Doctors, counselors and other practitioners have been using guided meditation for at least two centuries to help patients heal. Now, even The National Institutes of Health, Mayo Clinic and many other researchers validate their health benefits. Guided meditations connecting us to the earth are an excellent tool for embodied climate justice work. Bring your experiences with guided meditations as we learn and share tips and wisdom.
